I have always loved the word Grit. I sign my new business signature “With Grace + Grit, Ashley” Grit is used to describe football players, it’s tough, it’s the power of passion and perseverance.

When you look it up you’ll find it’s defined as “courage and resolve; strength of character.”

My friend Jamie has been friends with Laura Henderson for many years.

Shortly before Christmas Nolan and Laura Henderson took their 3- month- old son named Grit to the hospital due to dehydration and flu like symptoms but after tests was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma . Grit is only the second 3- month- old on record ever to be diagnosed with this soft tissue mass on the prostate.

This is Grit resting peacefully after a procedure to remove the mass from his prostrate.

I have been following this family on social media and felt led to do a gift basket for Laura. I have “met” Laura once when she came to my house to buy my hand-me-down car seat (which was for little Grit) I can’t stop praying for them and pleading with God to heal his precious body. I am trusting that Grit is bound to do great things in this world.

I mentioned the basket to Jamie and we wanted to collaborate on a meaningful Mother’s Day gift to bless Laura and lift her spirits. Final basket below.

Jamie’s print is just beautiful and she made her own essential oil linen spray for the basket. Jamie can do custom hand lettered prints. She is so talented. Be sure to visit Cozy Contemporary

Gracefully Gifting

Six years ago I became a mom. Ever since my first was born, I struggled with finding the perfect work/home life balance. DOES it exist? My most recent 'real world' job the workload was cluttering my mind and spirit. After 11 years in sales/marketing and advertising, I recently decided to quit my job so that I would have energy and 'room' for what is most important. Now, as a mom of 3, wife and Jesus lover, I am now following my passion of gift giving. Thanks for visiting my site.
